If you have ever suffered with edema (swelling), then you will relate to this post.
Aside from being overweight according to ALL the experts, I have lived with chronic edema for many years. I had many tests to determine the cause and always walked away with inconclusive results. I have been diagnosed by medical professionals with Lupus (3 different times over the years) and finally Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder. One doctor would diagnose me and another specialist would rule it out. Each time, I took a plethora of medications until I decided it was not helping.
At times, I told myself it is my weight. People would say to me, “Maybe if you lose weight, the swelling will go down.” So I dieted…to my disappointment, that was not the solution. In fact, over the years it worsened.
I thought back to when the swelling began. Then, I remembered that it didn’t happen until after I ran into a barrel cactus, while wearing sandals. I had a long thorn buried in a toe on my left foot for a few days before it finally surfaced and I could pull it all the way out.
I now realize that I was poisoned by the toxins in that thorn. Over the years, the left foot and ankle would always swell far more than the right side.
By about day 3 of the 10-Day Green Smoothie Detox, I had no swelling. My prayers have been answered. This detox plan has solved the mystery that the doctors could not. What specifically has occurred?
I am consuming the right antioxidants which is radically improving my overall health! Out with the fat, salt or sugar and in with the right herbs and spices!
According to the online article, “7 Super Spices for Super Health”, spices and herbs possess antioxidant power, anti-inflammatory properties, and enhance weight loss.
The article recommends these:
- Dried Red Peppers
Right now, I use almost all of these, but not too long ago, I relied on SALT for most of the flavor. Even if it was disguised by Franks Hot Sauce or some other sauces.
I know that truly detoxing for the first time has changed my life tremendously. I will continue to post good news like this in an effort to share what I know and hopefully inspire someone else to walk this walk!
