Journaling – a stress reliever?

diary-147191_640It is nothing for me to wake up in the middle of the night with an active mind.   Since my iPhone is my constant companion – I have learned to journal my thoughts in an application on my phone, then peacefully go back to sleep.

Today, I read an article entitled, “The Benefits of Journaling for Stress Management.”   I have so many boxes of journals with many of my thoughts and experiences in them.  Thinking back over my life, I definitely felt better when I was actively and consistently journaling.

According to the article, there are many reasons why people may journal; however, it has to be in a way that is natural and feels right.  For me, it is about de-cluttering my mind.  I guess that does relieve my stress.

I’m curious. Do you journal?  If so,  why?  Does it relieve your stress?

  1. Sometimes. I’m very bad at it. Not consistent. It helps to get the thoughts out. P.S. I like the new layout of your blog.
