Day 8 – Detox and WomanSpeak

I value WomanSpeak's mission of helping women become confident public speakers.

I started the 10 Day Detox a week ago Sunday.  I awoke this morning with a lot on my mind that requires my attention.  Mainly, I was concerned with the fact that not one person has enrolled in my WomanSpeak Speaking Circle.

On December 17, 2017, I hosted an Introductory Presentation to inform people what WomanSpeak was all about.  I had 14 women in attendance.  During the personal introductions, in response to my question of why they showed up, women consistently stated they were there to support me.  I believe it was the 11th or 12th person that stated, I came for myself (although I want to support Davina), I really need what is offered here.

The actual ongoing meetings were scheduled to launch on January 14, 2018.  I was there, but no one registered online or showed up.  Since the meetings are every 2nd and 4th Sunday, today was that time again.  No one registered, and I did not go to the space and sit alone this time.  I politely notified everyone via the invite on social media that due to lack of registration, this week’s meeting has been canceled.

I checked my VOICE before making that decision:

I value WomanSpeak’s mission of helping women become confident public speakers.  This opportunity is not for everyone.  My intuition reveals that I have not reached the women that need WomanSpeak the most.   In my marketing, I must provide (charity) more information about WomanSpeak in an effort to engage the right women.

I believe that experiences are mini-lessons that are designed to guide us through life.  I look for the lesson in everything.  WomanSpeak has really gotten me to take a look at how important it is for women to have a safe place to express their authentic selves.  It is an honor and privilege to lead a Speaking Circle.

WomanSpeak is founded by KC Baker, International Speaker whose vision is that women, “Speak their truth and change the world.”  I fully support that vision!
