An unforgettable year.
What a strange and challenging year 2020 was! I cannot believe 2021 is finally here! We started out feeling 2020 was our year for great insight and clarity. In fact, there were many New Year’s initiatives across the globe referencing the 20/20 vision.

What we now know is that 2020 was certainly not a clear path, but more of a rocky road with steep inclines. When COVID-19 hit the scene, there was a ‘run’ on everyday food and supplies – grocery store shelves were cleaned out. Next, social distancing was mandated along with wearing personal protective equipment. Sadly, we have lost over 1.8 million people worldwide and are counting! Our U.S. Presidential elections, no matter what side you were on, were a bit chaotic. Not to mention the heightened awareness of the prevalence of racism in our country, natural disasters, and so much more.

As I ponder these events and some more personal ones I am reminded of our history. Humanity is no stranger to adversity. As I reflected, my thoughts kept circling back to gratitude and resilience.

In 2021, In addition to the Authentic ME! workshops I facilitate for women, I vow to step up and support teens and young adults beyond my role as a classroom teacher. That is why I am launching Authentic Best Life for Teens and Young Adults. My goal is to expand the capacity of educators, parents, and caregivers to be more supportive of teens and young adults. My heart is always in that space because I remember at each stage of my life what I needed to thrive.

You may term my reflections as looking for the “silver linings”, “making lemonade out of lemons”, or “glass half-full” optimistic thinking. Whatever you call it, I gained an abundance of clarity in 2020. After 25 years as a corporate leader, 15 years as a certified life coach, and 7 years as a classroom teacher of adolescents, I have observed a great deal about people and how they handle adverse situations. The social unrest and division in this country we faced in 2020 confirmed a need for me to stay the course.

I also believe in positive affirmations and have hoped for a much better 2021! Change starts from everyone focusing on themselves and vowing to DO and BE better. Your mind, heart, and spirit must align, or you will continually have an unpleasant wilderness experience – consciously and unconsciously seeking to be accepted and approved in every area of your life. In the process, you miss out on having a relationship with the most important person of all – Yourself!

I invite you to become a part of our community. We support one another in the exploration of our physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual selves by focusing on various lenses. You emerge as a bolder, courageous, confident person who positively impacts many areas of your life.

Personal development is not an easy journey. You must be dedicated to the notion of living your best life. This means being willing to ask yourself tough questions. It means focusing within through various life lenses expecting to DO and BE better for yourself, your family, and your community.

In our workshops, these are some of the questions that you get to answer as you become more self-aware:

I invite you as my guest to join the Authentically Self-Aware Workshops to learn more about how you can enhance your life by becoming more self-aware, and resilient. I hope to see you at the next virtual workshop!
Warmest regards,
